John Turner

My name is John Turner, and I run the day-to-day operations at SeedProd.com, RafflePress.com, and Duplicator.com. My journey into entrepreneurship began in the fall of 1999 after graduating college and moving to Nashville, TN, where I took a job as a web designer at a small start-up. Living with a friend and sleeping on his couch, I quickly realized that the routine of a 9-5 job wasn’t for me. This epiphany led me to start my first business, eArtistManagement.com, which offered website generation for musicians in Nashville. While it provided a nice supplemental income of around $1,500 a month, my lack of marketing knowledge held me back from achieving greater success.

Determined to learn and grow, I discovered the Micropreneur Academy, where I learned the importance of testing ideas before fully committing. This new approach led me to create a WordPress plugin called Coming Soon Pro in 2011. Initially released for free, the plugin quickly gained popularity, and I capitalized on this by developing a Pro version. Balancing my day job and side business for eight years allowed me to become debt-free. In 2018, I decided it was time to take the leap and focus on growing my business full-time. After a relaxing summer with my family, I sought guidance from industry leaders like Syed Balkhi and Thomas Griffin through Syed’s Growth Fund. Today, I feel truly blessed to run several successful products with a fantastic team, embracing the uncertainty of life and business as I continue to explore new opportunities.
